Our Story

We believe in kick-ass coffee.

The dream began after Justin and Diana met in the lobby of the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas in the summer of 2010 In May 2011, they moved from North America to Hampshire and began outlining the first plans to open a quaint coffee shop and wine bar in the south of England.

Over the years, Justin began researching the origins of coffee, the importance of freshness and the impact of water quality in a great tasting cup of joe. Diana was busy looking for possible sites for a shop and learning more about the hospitality industry in the UK.

In 2015, work opportunities brought Justin and Diana to Manchester where they continued to graft, save money, and research the industry.  

Late 2018 brought the perfect site on Oxford Road in Altrincham, and by November, California Coffee & Wine was serving freshly roasted coffee, natural wines, and simple sandwiches to the communities of Altrincham and Hale.

Fast forward to 2020, California Coffee & Wine is a busy cafe and wine bar with guests of all ages. The aim is to serve coffee roasted within 24 hours, deliver excellent brunch dishes using locally-sourced ingredients, and provide the community with a place they can call home.
